[31 Days to Asia Championship 2012] Counter(s) on monsters

It's 31 Days away from Asia Championship 2012.
Placing counter(s) on monsters. Let's talk about the worst you can get for not placing counter(s) on monsters.

Breaker the Magical Warrior
When this card is Normal Summoned, place 1 Spell Counter on it (max. 1).

I personally think that it is better to place the counter to it as you might forget to use it's effect or you might just die for not putting the counter. Losing it's 300 atk for not putting the counter might cost you the match.

Life point 900, Opponent attack you with Machina Fortress. You let it go through and die by taking 900 damage when you haven't use breaker effect.

Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En
Once per turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card, you can negate its activation and destroy it.

This monster is a Once Per Turn effect and got no placing counter effect but it would be better if you place the counter to remind you that you have not use Shi En's effect. Opponent might just cheat you when you ask "I use Shi En's effect already?". Just like a lot of the duelist ask "I normal summon already?" when they do a lot of combo with special summon and forget whether he/she normal summon a monster that turn.

Cards like "Shrink", "Forbidden Lance", "Forbidden Chalice" and etc..

You might also want to place counter on monster(s) affected by card with similar effect listed above to avoid a misplay in using the affected monster to attack a monster with higher attack or using a monster to attack the affected monster which got a higher attack and lose to match from there.

The counter I used is actually a normal counter, its not Mentos. lol.

Card Review: Appropriate

Appropriate
便乗
Activate only when your opponent draws a card(s), except during their Draw Phase. Draw 2 cards.

Personally, I find this card useful when facing decks that run cards that provide draw power. Currently, many people are running cards like Maxx "C" and Card Car D. There are also certain decks that have access to cards which increase their draw power, eg. Six Samurai having their Six Samurai United. This card punishes opponents who tries to abuse the drawing power of a single card.

This card can give you great advantage when your opponent drops Maxx "C", you will be able to continue all your plays without caring about your opponent getting the draws as you are getting draws yourself. Opponent uses Card Car D, he only gets a plus one while you get a plus 2, even better, your opponent still has to pass the turn while also wasting a normal summon.

However, this card may not be very useful in the late game as not many would be using cards like Card Car D or other draw power cards in the late game so drawing this in the late game would just be a dead draw instead of the main purpose of giving free pluses. Most of the time, Card Car D would only be used in the first turn when the user wants to get his combo pieces fast, this card is not even usable when your opponent is starting first and uses Card Car D as the card is not even set on the field. If you are the one starting first, your opponent may already have Maxx "C" and could have activated it during your turn, this would leave it useless as it's still in your hand.
